As an artist residing in the Southwest corner of Colorado, Stacia is making work as a response to recreating, and working hard in the landscapes around her. While working towards a BFA from Alfred University in Alfred, New York, her studies focused on ceramic sculpture while balancing printmaking and photography studios.
After nearly 7 years away from working with clay, the winter of 2022 offered an opportunity to work-trade for studio time, which assisted in re-establishing a disciplined making process in the studio. This current body of work she's creating over the next year is titled RECLAMATION. This work is making her dig deep down within to reclaim her identity as an Artist, and the dredging up of her internal sediments has been a healing process in itself that is attempting to be represented lightly.
